The Childbloom® Guitar Program is built on four essential elements that work together to support children’s musical growth.
Specialized teacher training.
Childbloom teachers are educators first. They are trained specifically to teach children, not aspiring performers teaching on the side. Our teachers are specialists who understand how children learn and how to guide them step by step.
A carefully sequenced curriculum.
The program grows with the child, from Step 1 through high school level musicianship. Our curriculum is built like a tree, beginning with a strong foundation and branching into a variety of styles and musical experiences. As students grow, expansion music gives them meaningful choices while exposing them to the rich history of guitar music.
Small group instruction.
Children learn alongside peers, building ensemble and social skills at the same time. Our small group classes, typically two to four students, create an engaging and supportive learning environment. Interaction is both enjoyable and educational, and students continually learn from one another in natural, spontaneous ways.
Active parental involvement.
Parents are partners in the learning process, not passive observers. Parents are welcome to attend lessons at any time, and common practice and learning challenges are addressed through our monthly e-newsletter. Childbloom teachers are trained to help parents support learning at home in positive and effective ways.
Childbloom materials were created with a deep understanding of child development and music education research. Each musical task matches what children are capable of at each stage of physical, cognitive, and emotional growth.
Many children leave other programs because they are given material that is technically or stylistically inappropriate, and then blamed when they lose interest. Childbloom is designed to prevent that by meeting children where they are and guiding them forward with care and intention.
